Dr Greg Lavery, General Secretary

An Engineer by training, with a Doctorate in sustainable buildings, Dr Lavery is a Director of Rype Office (office furniture remanufacturing) and Nezo Interiors (net zero carbon office interior design).

Dr Lavery built Australia’s largest solar photovoltaic retailing business, Origin Solar, and has assisted some of the world’s leading organisations to create innovative sustainable business models, including Masdar City, Interface, Shell and ClimateWorks Australia.

Dr Lavery is a regular speaker at conferences and is guest lecturer at Imperial College London, Judge Business School, and the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.

Mr Martin Thorburn, Council Member

Mr Thorburn brings over 30 years of experience in the office furniture sector as the Director of Barkham Office Furniture (furniture refurbishment and remanufacturing).

Mr Richard Ryll, Council Member

Mr Ryll enjoyed extensive experience in the office clearance sector before starting Clear Environment (office clearance) 10 years ago and subsequently leading Recycled Business Furniture (furniture reuse and refurbishment).
